Bezvodnoye, place without water, is a quiet, small hamlet at the riverbank of the Volga in Kstovo district. Once, people there were tortured and tormented by a governor of the time and buried in their own cemetery. A century later, Rasputin is said to have come to inspect the graves. Rumour has it that he came with chests and buried his fortune at the very spot.
